Avowing to its mandate of eradicating illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 arrested two persons reportedly involved in illegal drugs during separate drug operations in Digos City on Friday.
In the first operation along Jumao-as Street in Barangay Zone 1, Digos City, Noli Dimaandal, spokesperson of the PDEA 11, reported that the Davao del Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Office of PDEA arrested 27-year-old Maylen Rañises alias Trixia, was arrested after selling to a PDEA agent, who acted as poseur buyer one sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride known as “shabu” for P1,000. Another two small sachets containing suspected shabu worth P2,000 and the buy-bust marked money bill were seized from her possession.
Dimaandal said that at around 1:50 p.m., another buy-bust operation was also conducted at Purok Lapu-Lapu, Barangay Zone III in Digos City and resulted to the apprehension of Angel Alcala. She was also arrested for selling one sachet containing suspected shabu worth P1,000 to PDEA Agents who acted as poseur buyer.
Both Rañises and Alcala are now detained at PDEA detention facility while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative examination.
Dimaandal said cases will be filed against the arrested person for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”. Richy Nalagon
