Journalism has this reputation of being the breeding place for ideas and opinions. This is what Mindanao Daily Mirror strives to provide as it continues to respond to the challenge of community journalism.
Mindanao Daily Mirror has come a long way from the time it was founded by Dean Demetrio Flaviano and Anita Jacela Flaviano in the 1950s. While the life of this community newspaper has not been totally a breeze for the past 65 years, it remains to be a family business and is still in the hands of the Flaviano family and is managed by the founders’ heirs. Its goals and aspirations remain consistent: to engage the community and to be of service to the community.
We have survived the challenges and have remained one of the most sought-after newspapers in the Davao Region by continuously providing professional news coverage of news that are significant to the community. We are armed with professional reporters and writers that have years of experience in the field of news reporting, and are thus capable of providing our readers balanced and well-written news whether for our front page, business page, regional page or even in our lifestyle section.
The Mindanao Daily Mirror is printed on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday. Up to 50% of our newspaper is distributed in Davao City while the rest in the other parts of the region including Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur and Davao Oriental; Kidapawan City, Butuan City, Cotabato City and General Santos City.
We are proud to be the most-read daily newspaper in the community especially among government offices, business sector, educational institutions, hospitals and financial institutions. While our readers include decision-makers and society leaders, we have also developed a stronghold among the men on the streets.
The Mindanao Daily Mirror represents stability and professionalism. It espouses community services. It aims to stir the community. Your business does not deserve less than that.
The Mindanao Daily Mirror is Davao’s No 1 newspaper per PPI survey and is the first 2-time ‘Best Edited Newspaper Nationwide’ and First 3-time UNICEF’s ‘Child Friendly Newspaper of the Year’ awardee.
The Mindanao Daily Mirror is a member of the esteemed Philippine Press Insititute (PPI) and was awarded the most outstanding newspaper and publisher throughout Mindanao.
The Mindanao Daily Mirror also holds the distinction of being adjudged as 2015’s ‘Most Outstanding Regional Newspaper’ by the prestigious Rotary Club of Manila.
