Young Davaoeño riders Myra Acedo and Mario Boro were the big winners in the recent 80th Araw ng Davao cycling competition on Sunday at the Barangay Langub, Davao City.
Acedo won the road bike ladies open title after finishing first in the bikefest with a time of 38 minutes and 55 seconds.
The second place in the event went to Christine Jill Dansigan from Tagum City (44:36) and the third place to Feliza Joy Abellana (47:26).
The 16-year-old Acedo credited her experience and vast trainings as rea-sons for her victory.
Meanwhile Boro for his part won the the road bike 13 and under boys’ title with the time of 33:12.
The second place went to Johane Zane Takatoshi-Kagitom (33:24) and the third place to the Tagum City cyclist Joshua Baya-baya (34:33).
The bikefest was organized by PhilCycling under the leadership of deputy secretary-general Salvador Paholio and funded by the Sports Deve-lopment Division-City Mayors Office.
