Panabo City world boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas is ecstatic for his boxing career this 2017 after he successfully defen-ded his IBF super-flyweight crown last Sunday in Macau.
Ancajas said he is open to the chance to fight as undercard in the next boxing match of Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacman Pacquiao some-time this year.
“It will be a blessing if I am included in the un-dercard of Manny Pac-quiao,” said the 25-year-old Ancajas in Filipino.
“Suwerte ko na ‘yun (I will be lucky to be there),” Ancajas added.
Anjacas beat challen-ger Jose Alfredo Rodriguez via a technical knockout after the Mexican is already unable to continue the fight on the eight-round due to a shoulder injury.
Ancajas (26-1-1, 17 knockouts) had landed target practice throughout much of the fight, painting Rodriguez (32-5, 19 KOs) with right jabs and left crosses as the challenger pressured the fight from the opening bell. Ancajas, who defeated McJoe Arroyo last September by unanimous decision to win the title, may have won every round despite his opponent’s aggression.
