Everything is set for the 80th Araw ng Davao Cycling Competition which happens on March 25 at the Moto-X Farm in Bara-ngay Langub, Davao City.
Some of the top and rising bike enthusiasts in Mindanao are set to parti-cipate in the event orga-nized by the local govern-ment of Davao in connec-tion to its founding anni-versary.
Philcycling Deputy Secretary-General for Mindanao Salvador Paholio Jr. said the race will serve as a preparation for the upcoming Philippine Na-tional Games and 2017 Batang Pinoy National Championships.
Paholio said the Sports Development Division-City Mayor’s Office has allo-cated the budget of P55,000 for the event.
Participants are set to compete in the road bike and mountain bike 19 and under, boys 15 and under, boys 13 and under and ladies open.
He said the BMX event will be exclusive for boys 13 and under riders. “Di pa kasi siya ganun ka exposed. The winners in all categories will get P3,000 while P2,000 and P1,000 will be awarded to the next two finishers.
