Along with the re-launching of Davao’s iconic Apo View Hotel yesterday is the possibility of a new condominium rising within its premises, to be constructed sometime next year.
Apo View managing director Edmundo Las said his staff are looking at a 25 to 30 floor condominium called The Residence at Apo View (TRAV).
“We’re building about an average of 24 to 36 sqm. targeting the market of millennials; construction will hopefully be second semester of 2018,” Las said.
Suzette Geminiano, the hotel’s marketing manager, said that Apo View is now being positioned as a five star hotel as there will be more structures like the additional two towers to rise soon.
“Of course we have to build more parking at the basement and other floors of the hotel,” he said.
The owners will build Icon Hotel, which is the same one being built in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila. Icon has about 18 floors.
“We are trying to put in the hearts of our employees what we call “Serbisyo sa Puso.” Also, our whole chain of hotels emphasize cleanliness,” he said.
Apo View Hotel was re-launched under the management of Icon Hotel of Global Comfort Group Corporations (GCGC).
“Apo View retains the name because this is legendary. But we just put it managed by the Icon. We have a chain of Icon Hotels in Metro Manila and we will still be expanding it nationwide,” Las said.
The re-launching promises clients to experience brand new rooms, newly renovated lobby, a brand new Café Josefina and Entrée.
“We’re trying to get the balance now of people who would like the old rooms of Apo View and the mellinnials who would like to experience the new rooms,” he said.
