Customers of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. in some parts of downtown and southern area in Davao City had experienced an extended scheduled power interruption earlier Friday morning, June 16.
Davao Light has announced through radio and print media last June 14 of its 15-minute scheduled power interruption on June 16 anytime between 12 a.m. to 1 a.m. affecting customers in Bangkal, Cat. Grande, Matina, Maa, Boulevard, Obrero and R. Castillo areas.
However, during the actual works, which started at 12:05 a.m., the switching crew experienced technical difficulties with one of the lines that needed immediate repair. Hence, switching of loads can’t be implemented resulting to a power interruption more than 15 minutes. The problem, if not immediately resolved would have caused damage to one of the breakers that may lead to longer power interruption.
Restoration in all affected areas was made at 1:14 a.m., after the repair works were completed.
Davao Light sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by the delay of this scheduled power interruption.
