Davao City based cyclists showed their domi-nance in the 19th edition of this year’s Lumba Bisiklita sa Kadayawan at the Davao Crocodile Park over the weekend which was organized by the Davao City Sports Consumer Co-operative Inc. (DCSCCI), the Citywide Cycling Association of Davao (CICAD) and sanctioned by PhilCyling (Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines).
PhilCycling Vice Pre-sident for Mindanao Sal-vador Paholio Jr. and BOD (Board of Director) Jojo Tan told the Mirror yester-day that the Dabaw City team B bagged the overall team title after accumula-ting the most number of points in the various catego-ries of the event namely the 13 and under road bike, 15 and under and girls, the 15 and under mountain bike, 19 and under and girls and the BMX class.
Team Dabaw City B composed of fast rising rider Orlando Sabejon, Mario Buro, Frances Guillaran and Angelita Acedo raked in 31 points to take the team title and pocket the P10,000 cash prize courtesy of the City Sports Development Divi-sion of the City Mayor’s Office, while taking the team first runner-up spot with a total of 27 points was team Dabaw City A com-posed of Myra Regina Acedo, Johane Zane Taka-toshi Kagitomi, Joshua Gaon and Brian Canto-mayor who went home with P5,000.
The team second runner-up honor went to team Lutayan of Sarangani Province which had a total of 17 points and got P3,000 for their efforts.
On the other hand, for the individual categories, Davao City’s Mario Buro emerged as the champion for the 13 and under road bike event, followed by Johane Zane Takatoshi Kagitome also from Davao City in second and Joshua Gaon of Davao City in third.
For the 15 and under class, Francis Jay Guillaran bagged the title followed by Brian Cantomayor in second and Dion Christian Cantomayor in third.
Orlando Sabijon of Davao City took the crown in the 19 and under division, followed by second placer Ranlen Maglantay of team Koronadal and third placer Jimmy Ebora of Malay-balay, Bukidnon.
For the girls road bike event, Myra Regina Acedo won the crown followed by second placer Angelica Acedo and third placer Feliza Abellana all from Davao City.
In the BMX event Kagitome emerged as the champion followed by Walden Ballesta in second and Ryan Casaljay in third all from Davao City.
For the 15 and under mountain bike affair Emmanuel Ebora of Malaybalay, Bukidnon won the title followed by second placer Ryan Gabac of team Lunasan Koronadal and third placer Jay Guillaran of Davao City.
For the 19 under divi-sion, the champion was Redentor Fortuza followed by second placer Juan Carlos Capistrano and third placer Glen Mondares of team Koronadal.
Lastly, in the girls mountain bike event, the champion was Myra Regina Acedo followed by second placer Feliza Abellana and third placer Angelica Acedo.
Meanwhile, the 19th Lumba Bisiklita sa Kada-yawan was backed by Steeltech Color Roofing, Emperador Brandy, Marc Anthony Cayetano Const., CISA Marketing, Travelers Insurance and Surety Corp., Davao Megtrade Inc., Techno Trade Re-sources, Ideal Vision and the City Government of Davao thru the CMO-SDD.
