The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is holding focus military operation in some areas in Davao City in support to the counter insurgency scheme of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
DCPO spokesperson Sr. Inspector Maria Theresa Plaza Gaspan in an interview with Mirror said one team of the City Public Safety Company is assigned in Marilog Police Station and the other team in Paquibato Police Station.
The teams are tasked to conduct focus military and security operation in their respective areas of assignment in coordination with the security forces in the area.
“Naga-conduct na sila ug focus military operations sa area of assignment nila, kana gyud ang trabaho sa City Public Safety Company nato,” Gaspan said.
Meanwhile, the police personnel were reminded of one-strike policy which the Philippine National Police (PNP) is implementing. This was issued as a reminder to police after the New People’s Army (NPA) attacked a police station in Cagayan Province last May 4.
Police were reminded to be on alert and to strengthen measures to thwart attacks by the rebels.
On Sunday, the NPA rebels also staged an attack a military detachment in Paquibato. There were also reports of sighting in Callawa, Buhangin District and some barangays in Calinan and Paquibato Districts. Richy Nalagon
