Holiday Gym welcomed back one of its premier yoga instructors who is now based in Malaysia albeit for just a short period of time. Lora Frances Lorenzo Lorente flew in to Davao for a two-week working vacation, and to make the most out of her time in the city, Holiday penciled in some yoga classes for her yoga students. Her presence also came in an opportune time since Holiday was celebrating its 14th anniversary, thus to formally close the week-long celebration, a yoga workshop entitled Defying Gravity was held last August 4. Defying Gravity is an arm balance workshop geared to those who want to learn, understand and refine the essential actions and mechanics needed to do arm balances with greater mindfulness and ease instead of relying on force. The workshop lasted for two hours, after which, a 90-minute power flow class followed, the class incorporated arm balance asanas and techniques into a powerful vinyasa flow sequence.
An avid yoga practitioner since 2008, Lora is a Yoga Alliance certified vinyasa/power yoga teacher who is currently based in Malaysia. Having been a grade school teacher for 14 years and possessing an innate love for yoga, sharing the practice came naturally for her. She first took the 120hr YTT with YogaMix Indonesia under the guidance of Slamet Riyanto and Deera Dewi. After which she consecutively made trips back to Jakarta for four years to further advance her training and finish her 500hr YTT under internationally renowned yoga teacher Denise Payne of One Song Yoga.
Lora’s classes and workshops are always something to look forward to as she has a unique ability to infuse her challenging and playful sessions with yoga philosophy, articulate cues and heart-felt humor. She aims for personal transformation leading each student to discover and celebrate their own creative power through yoga.
