After a two-year break due to the implementation of the K-12 curriculum, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) thru the Science Education Institute (SEI) is now accepting applicants for the 2019 Undergraduate Scholarship Examination. The DOST RA 7687 and Merit Scholarship Programs aim to develop the science and technology manpower and capability of Filipinos especially in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and are open to graduating senior high school students (Grade 12).
The scholarship program covers 79 bachelor’s degree courses in DOST identified colleges and universities all over the country. The SEI recently announced the inclusion of new programs to the list of priority fields covered by the DOST Scholarships: BS Medical Laboratory Science, BS Community Nutrition, and BS Life Sciences among others. The complete list of DOST’s priority S&T programs is attached to the application form which can be downloaded from sei.dost.gov.ph.
Successful examinees will receive a P7,000 monthly stipend, P40,000 tuition subsidy per academic year and a P10,000 annual book allowance, among other benefits. Application forms are available at the DOST Regional Office No. XI in Bajada, Davao City and nearest Provincial Science and Technology Centers (PSTCs) located in Tagum City, Nabunturan in ComVal Province, Mati City, Digos City and Malita in Davao Occidental.
Examination date is on October 21, 2018 and deadline of submission of application forms is August 31, 2018.
