With the road traffic inconvenience that we have been experiencing since last week, it would certainly put you to test whether you’d violently react and blame it to the government autho-rities or rather blame it to yourself because you slept late and woke up late as well.
Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, in an oft-quoted saying, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Most of my office-mates were complaining of the long trip they experienced because they reside along Bangkal and Matina roads wherein the reports told us that the long stretch road of McArthur Highway was where the agony would really start.
But for us who live farther from the city like Barangay Ula in Tugbok District, the agony started the moment you reached the Catalunan Pequeno road where the repairs were not yet done but December yet as estimated and scheduled.
Since our place is way too far than the places of my officemates, I have no choice but to start traveling to downtown from 5:20 a.m. in order to be at work at around 6:15 a.m..
It makes me less stressful and not moody at all because I handle life one at a time. As well as sharing smiles to those who forgot to realize the meaning of life, instead of living miserable each day.
Remember that life is too short. If you often carry a downhearted counte-nance plus the grudges that you wanted to nurse for a lifetime the more you look awful or terrible to look at.
On the other hand, the way the government works while trying to fix the landslide area related to recent heavy rains along Diversion Road, I think (which I may be wrong since this is just my own opinion) it would not be possible to finish it today, Wednesday, as mentioned in the reports.
Why was that? Based on the front page picture published in Monday’s paper a very small truck or a backhoe was the only thing used to fix the road problem. My husband and I couldn’t see any bulldo-zers to hasten the big and heavy work along Diver-sion roads.
Yesterday, a taxi driver who recently passed by along Diversion Road has noticed some changes in the way they fixed the landslide area, although it will still cause more terrible traffic jams. “Dili gyud ni makaya karon mahuman kundi syam-syam pa or basig muabot pa isa ka bulan bag-o maayo ang dalan,” he told me.
Well, everything should be done in the right way if we would want to lessen and manage the traffic woes as well as hasten the solving of the matter.
Still, it is better for us, whether you’re a student or professional, to also adopt that mentality of going to bed early so you can wake up early — at least 8 hours — to keep you mentally and physically healthy.
