Erring city employees cannot escape the consequence of their acts in the light of a probe committee created by Mayor Sara Duterte thru Executive Order No. 6. City Hall says over 50 complaints are now undergoing preliminary investigation. These cases involve minor to grave offenses, but names of those involved are still kept under wraps pending the investigation, which is just being fair to give the concerned employees the benefit of the doubt. Whether the offense committed is manageable, still, it should be corrected since as public servants government employees have to be respectable.
The complaints however should be based on valid reasons. This is important. Not all complaints are legitimate. Instances are, some complaints are raised out of personal grudge against a certain city government employee. In this case, comes the vital role of the probe committee especially to those involving anonymous complaints. The probers should exercise prudence in tackling the complaints and observe fairness in their judgment. This is imperative for punishment should only be given to those deserving. Under the administration of then mayor now President Rodrigo Duterte, 10 employees were dismissed from service when found guilty of the offense lodged against them.

Loving one’s job is simply being straightforward. Once a worker allows himself to get hooked with incongruities, eventually, payback time always comes.
