A person believed to be drunk was hacked to death by two suspects while sleeping outside a store at Times Beach around 2 p.m., Monday.
The Talomo Police Station identified the fatality as Feejayboy Bantilan Etchoros, 19 years old and a resident of Arumahan, Ecoland.
It was the victim’s mother Geraldin who reported to Police the fate of her son.
Police probers identified Dodong Punong alias Instik and Alias Soysoy as the suspects of the killing based on the testimony of a witness named alias Dodoy.
The witness told Police that Punong and Soysoy arrived at the scene of the crime and hacked the victim several times.
The victim’s relatives rushed him to the hospital, however, he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
Talomo Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Oliver Navales said they are eyeing gang rivalry as motive of the crime.
“Ang victim naay record sa ato na nga lider na sa isa ka grupo sa mga batan-on diha unya usa pud sa nagapa-simuno sa mga riot,” Navales said.
“Nag unay unay na sila diha, pero naga-buhat gihapon ta ug imbestigasyon para dakpon tong mga suspeka,” he said said.
Meanwhile, a man died after he was fatally stabbed while attending the internment of his son in law in Purok 15, Budbud in Bunawan, 8 a.m., Monday.
PO2 Noel Tapere, investigator of the Bunawan Police station identified the victim as one Ricardo Ramos Cervantes, 58 years old, while the suspect was identified as Joseph Lanaban Abarte, 42 years old. Both are residing in the identified place.
Police probers said that prior to the incident, the victim was with his live in partner Marites Mahilum at the internment, when suddenly, the drunk suspect arrived.
Then without any word, the suspect stabbed to death the victim and immediately escaped. The case is now under investigation.
