A habal-habal (motorcycle) driver was found dead at dawn Monday in Bacahoa Village, Ca-bantian in Buhangin.
Buhangin Police Station said the victim identified as 52-year-old Eduardo Vargas Dela Torre was found by police with gunshot wounds in the body and head. He is a resident of Ladislawa Village in Buhangin.
Police said the gunman carted away the victim’s belt bag. Police also found from the area three fired cartridges of 9mm pistol, one live ammunition for 9mm pistol, one live ammunition for caliber 45 pistol and one magazine for caliber 45 pistol loaded with 5 live ammunitions.
Inspector Francisco Sendo Jr., deputy commander of the Buhangin Police Station, said the police are still conducting an investigation although initially, investigators suspect it was a case of carnapping. The police also believed the gunman is known to the victim.
Sendo said it is possible that the victim was brought to the place by the suspect and his companion. Richy Nalagon
