KORONADAL CITY (MindaNews)–Around 3,000 motorcycle enthu-siasts have confirmed to join this city’s historic bid on Saturday, April 29, to set new Guinness world re-cords.
Judith Amido, Koro-nadal City information officer, said Friday such figure was based on regis-tration records for the world record attempts for the “most number of motor-cycle engines started simul-taneously and motorcycle horns sounded simulta-neously.”
The event, which is the highlight of the city’s on-going 1st Motorcycle Fes-tival, will be held from 5 to 8 a.m. at the city’s “round-ball” or rotunda area.
Amido said around 1,500 “big bikers” or visiting members of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs in the Philippines (NFMCP) from various parts of the country have signified to join the Guinness bid.
NFCMCP, which is headed by City Mayor Peter Miguel, will hold its 23rd national convention here on Saturday.
The official said more than 1,000 local motorcycle owners have already en-listed through the registra-tion desks at the city hall lobby, Rizal Park and the city’s three shopping malls.
Around 500 other par-ticipants have also regis-tered online through the city government’s website, she said.
“We will still accom-modate participants onsite so we’re very positive of reaching our 3,000 target,” Amido said.
She said they already conducted two dry runs in the last three days to pro-perly set the conduct of the activity. MindaNews
