The National Food Authority (NFA) has activated the Task Force NFA Kontra Abuso across the country to provide grains businessmen and the public with the facility to send their complaints, request for assistance and tip off information.
The Task Force is directed to ensure prompt action on complaints and request for assistance of grains businessmen against all highway violations committed by government enforcement agencies, including but not limited to harassment in the transport of grain commodities and visit to private warehouses for alleged inspection.
The public may call and text the Kontra Abuso Hotline 0927-871-5921. The hotline is manned 24/7 by NFA Central Office personnel then forwarded the received issues to the concerned field offices. In Davao Region, which is composed of five provinces, already has its local Task Force in place and operational in cases of complaints, requests and tips off that need to be addressed immediately.
“The Task Force Kontra Abuso will serve as the eyes and ears on the ground,” Administrator Aquino said as he initiated the program to protect the good quality low-priced rice of the agency to be a subject of nefarious activities.
“With the activation of the task force, a more intensified market monitoring and enforcement will be conducted to “ensure that rice for the poor reaches the poor” and usher away dishonest and corrupt practices,” Regional Director Dianne A. Silva said. /cacb/
