A simultaneous raid against illegal gambling operations in various areas in Davao del Norte resulted to the arrest of 19 persons caught engaged in the illegal activity.
PNP 11 Regional Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales said the Tagum City Police Office apprehended 18 persons who were engaged in different types of illegal gambling such as playing cards, and mahjong. Also confiscated were 16 fruit game machines, one video karera, two sets of gambling cards and one mahjong set, and cash amounting to P48,700.
In Panabo City, six fruit game machines were confiscated, while in the municipality of Sto. Tomas one video karera machine and one fruit game machine were confiscated.
In Carmen Davao Del Norte, police arrested a person who was involved in the illegal numbers game last two. Police also recovered from his possession last two paraphernalia and P150.
Morales said there will be no let up in the PNP’s campaign against illegal gambling in Region 11.
Meanwhile, the confiscated illegal gambling machines will be due for destruction after the filing of case in court against the suspects, PNP 11 Spokesperson Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz said. Richy Nalagon
