An encounter between government troops against an undetermined number of NPAs under an unknown leader transpired Friday.
Government troops acted upon a report coming from civilians that some armed men, believed to be members of Pulang Bagani Command 2 operating in parts of Marilog District were sighted in the area Barangay San Miguel, Arakan, North Cotabato.
The clash transpired around 9 a.m. that lasted four hours after which the NPAs withdrew towards a southwesterly direction. After being tracked and sighted around 12:30 noon by operatives of the unit, an MG520 attack helicopter from TOG 11, PAF proceeded to the encounter site to conduct Close Air Support, delivering the first round of fires towards the NPAs position.
