Asia’s largest mixed martial arts promotion ONE Championship will be hosting an Asian mixed martial arts summit this year to further boost the sport in the region.
The summit, from Sep-tember 21 to 23 at the Ma-rina Bay Sands in Singa-pore, would serve as a convention for influential MMA figures to discuss how to take Asian MMA to the next level.
“ONE Championship is excited to once again host the Asian MMA Summit which gathers industry leaders from all over the world and game changers in Asian MMA,” said ONE CEO Victor Cui.
“Imagine the industry’s most brilliant minds coming together under one roof to discuss how we can all take things to the next level. This is what the Summit aims to achieve.”
Some of the renowned MMA players invited to the summit are Bellator CEO Scott Coker, URCC foun-der Alvin Aguilar, former UFC middleweight cham-pion and ONE VP Rich Franklin, Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao, and ONE heavyweight cham-pion Brandon Vera.
Despite ONE Cham-pionship’s unprecedented growth in a relatively short span of time, Cui cites the need for such a gathering to maintain Asian MMA’s upward spiral.
“ONE, together with the sport of MMA, has grown so much in the last five years and through the Summit, we want to conti-nue to spearhead the ex-changing of ideas in conti-nuation of the next phase of the sport’s growth in the region,” says Cui.
