The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc (DCCCII) has recorded P2.5 million-worth of bookings for 2018 Davao Agri Trade Expo given the success of this year’s exposition held last month.
“The next one will be in September 2019 its already booked and in fact just to reflect how excited the exhibitors are, we already booked about P2.5 million worth of exhibitors for 2019,” Wilfred Teves, DCCCII vice president for industry said.
Teves said the early bookings show the exhi-bitors interes to reserve already a space because they made good business here in Davao and Minda-nao.
“There are a lot of opportunities being made because we are a growing population and in fact we are net importer of live-stock, poultry, even cattle. There’s no problem in terms of buyers or consumers,” he said.
Teves said the chal-lenge is for them to elevate and improve the equipment; learn the process to automate; and make sure the sectors are not affected by climate change.
Held in SMX Conven-tion Center, DATE 2017 has reached 9,534 foot traffic compared to the 8,665 traffic in DATE 2015 which highlighted the same sectors: livestock, hogs, poultry, gamefowl and aquaculture industries.
Exhibitors of DATE 2017 also generated net sales of P436, 432,836.
“Every end of the expo sales was given by the exhibitors as declared sales. But we know it can happen after the event that the closure of sale does not happen right away,” Teves said.
Carrying the theme “Towards Available and Affordable Food for All” is in line with the Duterte government’s drive for food sufficiency.
