An official of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) disclosed in Mirror’s Face to Face that 44 Filipinos winning the lottery have turned millionaires.
PCSO deputy spokesperson Florante “Bong” Solmerin said for the period of January up to present there are now 44 millionaires nationwide. Of the 44, the total prize is more than P2 billion.
“Ito yung mga nanalo sa lotto at naipamahagi natin ang pera sa kabuuan ay more than P2 billion as prizes,” Solmerin said.
These are winners from all fund generation activities such as lotto, Keno (online lottery game), express Keno, Small Town Lottery (STL), and sweepstakes.
Most of the winners belong to the lower income group.
He said one of PCSO’s challenges is to teach winners how to properly manage their prize money.
“May mga cases na some of these winners are one day millionaires. But there are also some who become successful,” he said. Maya M. Padillo
