Have you heard of the amazing story of a Christian believing couple who put up a prestigious school in this city but they first started with only P4 in their pockets?
This was the testimony of Christian believer Sharon Juinio Manguiob, who is happily married to Marc Manguiob and blessed with three kids: one teenager boy and two little girls.
Back then, Sharon and Marc were both students of AB Communication Arts Major in Mass Communication at Ateneo de Davao College. They became college sweethearts since their freshmen year.
After graduation, they’ve decided to settle down during Marc’s birthday on March 26, 2000.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever have an ambition to put up a school of our own,” Sharon said.
“But before Marc and I decided to establish our own school, I became a teacher assistant,” she added.
She said it was a job accepted because of need to earn money. She even cried on the first day of work because she really can’t imagine herself becoming a school teacher.
By God’s grace, the young Christian couple put up their family school enterprise in 2001 that they have to establish it on their own through the miracles of Jesus Christ with P4 only in their pockets. “Without borrowing money or asking favor from our respective parents, everything was truly God’s favor and blessings,” Sharon beamingly told this writer.
“Impossible as it may be but if you keep the faith and seek Him first, all shall be added unto you,” she further shared.
The aunt of Marc, who also owns a school, helped the young couple by guiding them when putting up such family school business. The relative of Marc happened to be also their grade 1 teacher.
At Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy, which started in 2001 with 25 learners and where pre-school was their first class offered, they are now offering complete pre-school, grade school, Junior and Senior High School class levels. Kids Camp is already a DepEd recognized and a recipient of ESC-DepEd Assistance. They also have their current branch school in Panabo that was granted with the permit to operate two months ago.
In 2013, she graduated however from Masters Degree in Education Major in Special Education at the University of Southern Philippines. Her thesis was about Program Reverse inclusion for Children with Special Needs. “This is the program we are using right now in our school known as Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy.”
The school directress of this prestigious school gladly announced that they are the only school all over Asia Pacific that offers Reverse Inclusion Program. It means the regular students are combined with special kids through proper intervention and one-on-one program aside from regular class. All special needs include Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHD and other learning disabilities, she said.
Also, this year she completed her Doctoral Degree in Education Major in Educational Management at University of Southern Philippines in Lahug, Cebu City.
Sharon said since this school was a product of their answer to prayers, she believes that it is very important to rally Christian education among her learners. “To develop and train the learners by carrying out His divine imperative in the Great Commission. To let the learners know God, have a biblical world view, know man, know the truth through the Holy Spirit, and have biblical values.”
Why is this so? Sharon said because this school is a miracle from the Lord Jesus Christ. We don’t own this, but we are just a steward of this blessing. We want to make a difference in the lives of every learners at Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy, which is to mold a God-fearing generation.
