Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Sr. Superintendent Alexander Tagum has embarked on a major reorganization of police station chiefs on Monday.
Tagum in an interview said the shuffling of police chiefs is aimed to better serve the people. Tagum added he wants newly-designated station commanders to address criminality immediately.
“Dapat mag action ang ating mga bagong station commanders (The new station commanders should act) and my order to them address and suppress the criminality in their respective area of responsibility,” Tagum said.
Effective Monday, DCPO Administrative Officer Chief Inspector Jerome Amor De Guzman assumed as the station commander of Toril Police Station replacing Chief Inspector Ronald Lao, who assumed station commander of Talomo Police Station.
Talomo Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Oliver Navales is reassigned as chief of the administrative division of the DCPO.
Chief Inspector Emerson Pugong, former Assistant Chief of the Operations Division of DCPO, is the station commander of Sasa Police Station replacing Sr Inspector Noel Villahermosa, who is now assigned at DCPO.
In his speech during the turnover ceremony, Lao asked the full cooperation of the personnel of the Talomo Police station and to attend to all their duties and responsibilities especially attending court duties.
“I was informed that the police officers from the Talomo Police station were barred by the court from testifying in drug cases because of unexplained absence in court for their scheduled testimonies,” Lao said.
Lao vowed to address immediately robbery incidents in the area of Talomo Police.
“Maningkamot ta mga masulbad ang mga kaso sa robbery hold-up, ug pwede nga dili ta matulog ato ng buhaton (I will try to solve the robbery, hold-up, if possible we will not sleep we will do it),” Lao said. Richy Nalagon
