Mayor Sara Duterte further challenged the Davao City police to work harder to sustain the drop of criminal activities in the city.
Sara in an interview with media at the birthday bash of City Police Chief Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum said she is happy about the 25 percent reduction of crime rate from January to October this year compared to same period last year.
“Rest assured that the City of Davao is behind the DCPO and will extend assistance as needed in order to make the city peaceful,” Sara said.
Data from the PNP Regional Command showed that in 2016, crime volume stood at 9,032 from January to October. This has gone down to 6,716 same period this year.
Tagum attributed the dent of crimes to the hard work and dedication of male and female police in the city.
“I thank the Mayor for recognizing our effort. The reduction he said will not be possible without the support of the personnel of the Davao City Police Office,” Tagum said.
Tagum assured the mayor and the public that the DCPO will continue doubling their efforts to safeguard the people and city through also the help of DCPO’s security partners’ Task Force Davao, military and other law enforcement agencies. Richy Nalagon
