A summer bike clinic which will be handled by a certified commissaire and level two coach will be held this coming May 28 at the Davao Crocodile Park complex in Maa, Davao City organized by Phil-Cycling Davao and go-verned by UCI (Union Cycliste International) guidelines.
This was revealed by PhilCycling Davao Vice President for Mindanao Salvador Paholio Jr. to the Mirror, who cited that 1991 SEA (South East Asian) Games medalist and veteran cyclist Domi-nic Carpio will be conduc-ting the lecture for the said affair which is open to various age groups both male and female.
“The clinic will be held prior to the whole day Criterium Race and free lugaw will be served for the riders. Again, this is free and open to all cycling enthusiasts,” Paholio said.
Helping out Carpio are the other individuals who passed the Commissaire’s course held way back in 1998 conducted by Atty. Ding Cruz an international Commissaire of the UCI. They are former Federa-tion of Off-Road Cycling Enthusiasts (FORCE) president Ed Leuenberger Jr. and former national team coach Dr. Mauro Puyod, who handled Davao based Asian downhiller Joseph ‘Wangbu’ Oncada in the early 90s. Among the topics that will be tackled for the clinic are; Cycling for the youth, Basic Condi-tioning, Nutrition and Biomechanics.
Paholio, the interim president of CICAD (City-wide Cycling Association of Davao) added that all cycling enthusiasts are invited to join this activity.
