Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum implemented a reshuffling of top police officers in Calinan and Buhangin police precincts following the series of New People’s Army (NPA) attacks, Sunday.
DCPO Spokesperson Maria Theresita Gaspan however denied it has something to do with last Sunday’s attack, saying, the movement of police chiefs is normal in police administration and operation.
“It is the prerogative of the City Director to implement changes in the city police,” Gaspan told reporters.
“Ang decision ni Sr. Supt. Tagum to replace the four officers is not related sa nangyari last Sunday, discretion niya ang movement ng mga officers niya,” Gaspan said.
Effective today, Supt. Emmanuel Caquilala of the City Public Safety Company assumes as chief of operations of the DCPO replacing Supt. Ireneo Caburnay, who is now the commander of the Public Safety Company.
Buhangin Police Station Commander Milgrace Driz will now head the DCPO Police Strategy Management Unit. Driz is replaced by Chief Inspector Jack Tilcag.
Calinan Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Carlito Apilat assumes as deputy chief of the DCPO operations division while Chief Inspector Nolan Raquid, is reassigned as officer-in-charge of Calinan Police Station.
Chief Inspector Roman Alvarez of the Marilog Police station is replaced by Chief Inspector Roy Mateo. Alvarez is now assigned as deputy of the Police Community Relations of the DCPO.
