A construction worker was declared dead on arrival at the Southern Philippines Medical Center after he was shot by unidentified motor riding gunman while about to board a taxi on Sunday night along Quimpo Boulevard, Barangay 40-D.
A report from the San Pedro Police Station confirmed that the victim, Earl Mark Badilla Gella alias Mak-mak, 31, single and a resident of Purok 16, Bucana Barangay 76-A was about to enter a taxi with plate number LXB-725 when he was shot by the gunman wearing red orange sleeveless shirt and camouflage shorts. The gunman immediately left on board a black silver motorcycle driven by another person heading towards the direction of Trading Boulevard.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds in his head, right shoulder and abdomen.
In an interview, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum said they are looking into the angle of personal grudge as motive of the killing.
Police investigators took from the crime scene four empty shells of caliber .45 pistol and the cellular phone of the victim.
