Team Duterte and IBP battled to a 108-108 draw in Game 10 of their bas-ketball friendly series over the weekend at the Genesis 88 Gym.
Both teams displayed superb offensive firepower to cap the high scoring game in a deadlock for the second time in three games.
The outcome kept Team Duterte undefeated after winning the first seven outings of the series and took Game 9 by storm to cop an 8-0 lead. Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go dazzled with 50 points to lead the charge for Team Duterte which dominated Game 9, 101-89.
Go, the sweet-shooting special assistant to Presi-dent Rodrigo Duterte, hit eight booming triples to pace Team Duterte against the fast plays of IBP. Armand Dioso scored 34 points for IBP as Adrian Paguican made 25.
IBP appeared to be on its way to secure its first win in the series behind a more flexible and balance offense.
But it was staved off as Team Duterte came through with great resolve anchored on Go’s timely baskets down the stretch.
Three players back-stopped Go with double digit performance led by Joel Aberilla who made 18. Eugene Labor made 14 and Warren Cloribel had 12 for Team Duterte.
Go put the team on his broad shoulder in the series averaging close to 45 points and shot 7 triples per game. IBP was on the threshold of tasting its first victory in Game 7, dictating the game most of the time. But Team Duterte pulled off an unprecendented fight back, clawing back from 17 points down midway to finish the game to a 93-all.
