It was a fantastic luau night as Professional basketball team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Davao Occidental Tigers treated other basketball teams- Valenzuela Classic Idol Cheese, Pasig Pirates, Rizal Crusaders a Ha-waiian themed fellowship dinner at the Pavilion of the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao (WIHD), Wednesday.
What is a luau without leis, grass skirts and coconuts either! Pla-yers and guests were greeted with leis, sizzling firedancers and hula-dancers right at the entrance of the party.
From fantastic luau decorations including multicolored paper lanterns, tiki torches, hanging decors to hot fire dancers and drumbeaters to sizzling production numbers plus unlimited Davao fruits like durian, pomelo, pineapple, banana, lanzones and mangosteen and Filipino buffet spread delighted the players and guests.
Players and guests were energized more with fabulous prizes in the raffle draw wherein a motor-cycle was given away by Transcycle as major prize.
The affair was just a delectable treat before the teams’ game at the court of the University of Southeastern Philippines Gym (USEP Gym) on August 30 wherein Davao Occidental Tigers will play against Valenzuela Classic and Rizal Crusaders versus Pasig Pirates.
“For tonight I only want everyone to enjoy, have fun and I really wanted this to create camaraderie and friendship among the teams and to thank my sponsors who some of them flew all the way from Manila,” said Claudine Diana Bautista, Davao Occidental Tigers team owner.
Other sponsors include Cocolife, San Miguel Global Power, Mobile Networks and My Phone. (Maya M. Padillo)
