After a high strung Game 3, it did not take long for Game 4 of the Gover-nors’ Cup semifinals bet-ween defending champion Ginebra and TNT to get really intense.
Ginebra rookie Kevin Ferrer finally got under the skin of KaTropa import Glen Rice Jr. as yet another incident involving the two led to the early ejection of TNT’s high-scoring rein-forcement.
With 1:41 to go in the opening period, Rice and Ferrer got entangled on the court directly in front of the TNT bench.
Rice then shoved Ferrer to the floor before throwing the ball at the rookie’s face. He missed a direct head shot but he was eventually called for a flagrant foul penatly 1 and a technical.
He was promptly ejec-ted afterwards with the KaTropa on top, 35-23. The first quarter ended with TNT taking a 41-32 lead.
Before he made his exit, Rice was also seen exchanging words with TNT alternate governor Pato Gregorio. He was accompanied by head coach Nash Racela as he walked towards the dugout where he spent some time before finally leaving the Araneta Coliseum minutes later.
Rice did not grant media interviews as he was escorted out of the arena by a handful of TNT officials and arena security.
The Gin Kings lead this best-of-5 series, 2-1.
